Team Work

The big choice is coming up and the two leading candidates for the Democratic Party is Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton, So why not both? Some people cannot even decide witch one to vote for anyway. If they are both so great then why don’t they decide to work together? They can make change as a team instead of tearing each other down and then neither one would win the presidential race. In Maureen Dowd’s column, http://www.nytimes.com/2008/03/26/opinion/26dowd.html?ref=opinion , she speaks to choose “Hillary or nobody.” I ask again, why all or nothing? Each candidate has big goals for the United States. Why not bring Hillary voters and Obama voters together and get this fighting done with? Now the big issue is who would take the back seat? In my opinion it doesn’t really matter. President or vice president, they both work together at the same place. All they have to do is put their differences aside, and make the change they both want. It’s not impossible. It could be done. From reading Dowd’s Column Clinton may be faced with the decision weather or not to take the Vice president spot. She might lose against Obama anyway, so might as well take the opening. I mean when you think about putting pride aside and coming together as a strong team would be a good example for the American public.

Texas counts!

I definitely agree with this article when it says “Texans probably will vote in record numbers today.” For the first time in a long time Texas will actually make a difference in the presidential primary election. From what I have been observing, more and more people are seeing the importance in taking the time to go out and vote. More citizens are actually taking the primary elections serious. There are lots of Texans that would say, “My one vote would not matter anyway”. But minds are changing and people are voting. Not only or people going to vote for the primary, but the turn out in Texas early voting was a big leap from the past years. The race between Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton is so close that the Texas vote does really matter. Obama is actually counting on Texas to get a lead over Clinton. As the article says, “Texas is the biggest of four states holding nominating primaries today.” As well as Obama, Clinton is counting on the Texas vote to get her comeback in the race. I also agree that everyone is in excitement over the democratic side. Both competitors will make history if they win the presidential election. With Clinton being a woman and Obama being an African American man, this election will be a historic event. This could take part in why more and more people are voting this time around.
